Koya University Students Represent Kurdistan at SPE ADIPEC University Program in UAE

Three students from Koya University's Department of Petroleum Engineering, also members of SPE International, actively participated in a significant scientific development program focused on energy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). These students,named Diako Kamran Saadi, Aland Omed Abbas, and Ahmad Mahmoud Ahmad, were selected as representatives of both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq as a whole.

They were among a group of 40 students who joined the prestigious SPE ADIPEC University Program hosted by SPE International in collaboration with Abu Dhabi
National Oil Company, ADNOC and Khalifa University on October 1, 2023. This program offers a unique and invaluable opportunity for engineering students to gain academic experience, especially in the oil and gas sector. It's important to note that this program annually welcomes students from the Middle East and North Africa, offering a distinct experience that significantly benefits the future careers of oil and gas professionals.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in diverse activities, including seminars, workshops, scientific panels, and visits to the National Oil Company in Abu Dhabi, ADNOC. They also had the privilege of taking part in the UAE International Oil and Energy Exhibition, known as ADIPEC, and attending various technical conferences and project presentations as the program concluded.

Moreover, the program underscored the significance of renewable energies, particularly the development of environmental technologies aimed at addressing environmental challenges and changes. These critical topics were explored in the presence of experts and representatives from prominent energy companies.
